Published on the occasion of the exhibition ... of lovers, time and death, organised with Attilia Fattori Franchini at FELIX GAUDLITZ, Vienna, this publication brings together a series of Hervé Guibert's black-and-white photographs – some taken during stays and journeys in Italy –, the English translation of a portrait of Balthus that he wrote for Le Monde in 1983 – Enquête autour d'un portrait (sur Balthus) – together with essays by Attilia Fattori Franchini, Estelle Hoy, and Drew Sawyer that reflect on Guibert's unique approach to photography and writing.
