En vif recounts the daily lives of some fifteen teenagers placed by the Aide Sociale à l’Enfance in a Maison d’Enfants à Caractère Social (M.E.C.S.) in the Paris region. Combining texts and photographs, this book is the product of a collective work initiated in 2019 and continuing until 2023. The images taken by the residents with photographer Rebekka Deubner are the intimate voices. The texts, written by author Valentine Gauthier Fell, are the narrative thread: a day that allows us to immerse ourselves in the life and workings of the M.E.C.S.
